Kind of a lot of work to go through to see a working demo, but I was unable to get it working on this board due to errors in our last upgrade? that will all be fixed on the next beta or RC.

Note: this does not currently have a place to type in your reason for editing? this will be coming in the next release.
This also does not add to the edit counter. That will also be coming in the next release.

Demo:To see a working demo of this, you must first have at least 1 post in this forum and have permission to edit it.
Go to the UCP and change your style to subSilver (yes, it's kinda ugly right now)
Then, point your browser to http://startrekguide.com/beta5 and browse to your post and click "Quick Edit".

I doublechecked everything, cleared the cache and the cache-folder, refreshed all templates... but there is no Ajax-QuickEdit showing up....

Sad

Where could i have made a mistake?

You have to be using subSilver to see it.
Go to the UCP and change your style to subSilver

and you can only see it if your change startrekguide.com/forum to startrekguide.com/beta5
Then, point your browser to http://startrekguide.com/beta5 and browse to your post

I removed the demo instructions since they seem to be to hard to follow Cray
Short of making everybody register on another board, theres not much I can do since a demo account always gets abused.
I'll just have to wait till we upgrade StarTrekGuide and I have it working here.

Until then? you'll just have to trust me on how it works Wink and give it a shot on your own board.

You always can give the demo account permission only to see one forum and edit only one existing post on that one forum. No UCP, posting, deleting etc.

Oh, i watched the demo and i really like it Smile I´m talking about my board

I just checked the source of a thread and found out, that there is seems to be a problem to asign the button.
It just reads:

Code: Select all
<a href="#" id="quick_edit37868" onclick="quick_edit(37868); return false;"></a>

I thought I took all that out already Sorry but it's ok.
The button used to be there, but I de-assigned it because the javascript was not showing up, but I left the template alone, so it's just residual.
It actually shows as &lt;a href, but it's not a problem so I'm not going to worry about it until the next STG upgrade Smile

Ohhh.. i this seems harder to explaiin than i thought

I installed the mod at my board and in my board i can´t see the button.
The srcipt is working fine, i hardcoded a "[ quicklink ]" into the template and it works. Smile

It´s just, that somehow the picture is not assigned...

(still talking about my board Wink )

You have to refresh the template? either by deleting the files in the cache directory or by going into the ACP and refreshing the cache on your template? I did put those in the install instructions Wink
