Your turn -- I need ideas

Postby Highway of Life » 12 Sep 2007, 21:18

Hi guys!!

I?m going to be doing the phpBB Weekly podcast alone (without Douglas) this weekend. (Saturday, 15th, 16:00 UTC or 12:00 Noon Eastern)
How about we give it the STG TAKEOVER treatment? :D
-- Really though, I would like your guys' input, what would you like to hear us discuss? what is a question you would like to hear us answer?
Even if you are already familiar with the topic, or already know the answer to the question, if you think it would be a good topic for discussion. Please suggest it.
The sooner, the better. i.e. don?t post a list of things you would like us to discuss at 11am Eastern. :P

I look forward to reading the suggestions.
Thanks!!
Watch out! I might do a code wheelie!

Well, just so you aren't alone, I think you should drag Mr. Handyman into this too. *nods* That would be quite interesting.

I haven't heard the last few weeks, so I am just glancing at them, but I think it would be cool if you talked about how the parsing of the styles and BBCode stuff works, or maybe more than just the parsing if you are up to it. That'd be quite interesting, and I would love to find out from you (two).

Hope that helped.

Highway of Life,

It's at your right foot :

MOD validation on .com! - What is it, what is it not, what is it about, why is it important, what's the difference between a validated MOD on .com and say a non validated MOD from phpBBHacks and so, etc., etc. - I know there are stuff for reading for hours about this on .com (I have read it, to understand it), but I doubt many have. -And for for sure I consider it interesting - And I suppose you are totally brushed up on this topic and can shake that part of the cast right out of your sleeve, even fill up the whole cast with it! ;)

Ohh, I have forgotten to post some feed back here.

Well, I forgot about the time, so I did not listen to it online, ended waiting, waiting, waiting for it to listen to the achive ... :banghead: - Ended up listening to it Sunday at some time in stead :P

- I just like this way of getting information about phpBB 3.0 instead of always only reading about it on the Net, or actually doing something with it my self. - Well, it's "tech-stuff", but not soo comprehensive that one need to listen to it and cannot do other things at the same time - very informative and at the same a "relaxing" way to get some hard core information about phpBB 3.0, MODs, styles etc. :good:

Personally I do not think it went fairly well - You simply did a GREAT JOB :clapping: - It is very difficult to keep somebodys attention for almost an hour on such topics - it's about getting variation in your speach, changes of topics at right moments etc so the information stream does not "fade out" etc. Your decision to include Handyman in the podcast was also just right, not only so that we got the opportunity to hear Handyman's voice - we already know about his hat - but to create some variation and ping-pong-conversation.

- Is Handyman's left arm in such a state, that he is able to type on a keyboard with his left hand after this "invitation" ( :music:  ) from you? :rotfl:

- GREAT JOB! :drinks:

Yes, indeed. I enjoyed listening to the show very much. I liked how you brought up alphaPORTAL  although I would have prefered you asked before giving away my secret plans ;) However, there are a few things you didn't give away ;)
