Still not having any luck with this mod. Maybe I am just too much of a newb to figure it out...

I have recently upgraded my php to 5 and the previous problem has been resolved.
However I am not receiving any pm's or new post on bots but in fact have been being hit really hard these past few days with bot registrations. They are in the inactive list and from what I have searched the usernames are not listed but the IP address are. I assume the IP addresses are being flag as bots by this mod correct?

What would be some other issues that would prevent this mod from doing what it supposed to do.

The only reason the MOD would not be working correctly is if you did not perform the edits correctly, or the MOD is disabled in the ACP.

What is the PM group set to and if you try to register an account do you get any errors? Make sure debug_extra and debug are on.

Notify group is set to Administrators for now. I just set it to that to rule out any permission errors.

Forgive me but where do I make sure the debug options are set to on?

Just tried setting up a new account and I get no errors.
I did set up and enter in my api's on both sites too.

When you register the account, did it take a little bit longer to load the page once you clicked submit compared to normal pages?
