i do have a couple of mods installed, which seem to be mostly working, i think my problem is down to the moderator status mod.. in the over writting of files in the 3.1 upgrade it went all to hell.. im guessing it may have effected the database as well as the forum files on my server? if so how easy is that to fix?

i still cant believe i upgraded the way i did.. was stupid really i should have known with mods installed it wouldnt work :banghead:

anbyway, its been months now since i did this, im usless at this codeing stuff so cant fix it myself, i did have someone i found through another website looking at it, but he didnt have a clue... and i gave up chasing him... so is there anyone out there who can help me? my forums only a small one, but its not working right is really bugging me so im willing to pay

Hi Steve,

Your request that your asking for is what I would consider a routine support related question. This is considered a free service here at STG unless you would want someone to actually perform the fixes for you but I think you may find that you may be able to fix this yourself with the help of our staff and members. Since you are not asking for services to have mods installed or anything like that, I think our staff and members can help you get your problems worked out in the phpbb3 support forums but first we will need to know what mods you have installed.

I will move this post to our support forums. Besides I think it will get more attention there.

Also, please use a descriptive topic title that explains your problem in a nutshell. It's discouraged to use titles like "Help plz!" etc. It's encouraged to say something like, "Problem with PMs", etc.

hi guy's, thanks for the replies.. someone suggested i post here because i have had no joy on the phpBB forums. i posted months ago on there and no ones replied.. and secondly any forum that even mentions star treks fine by me.. long been a star trek nerd ;)

hank, appologies for using the wrong heading in my topic

stitch, my hope is that someone can do the work for me im not much good with codeing side of things, tried it years ago and couldnt get on with it at all, with me things either click straight away or i never get them... so sadly im willing, and expecting to pay.. after months with no pm's itll be worth it

now my problem in detail.. firstly my forums address is http://www.tonyrefail.org/forum im not sure if youll see the error i mean unless your a member or not.. so please if you need to see it sign up.

i originally had a phpBB2 forum which was upgraded to phpBB3 on release, with the mods below added at the same time. i then stupidly used the auto upgrade to upgrade to v3.1 when that was released.. it was after this that i had my error messages.

instant post redirect
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 9&t=584852

anti bot question
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 9&t=645075

moderartor user status
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 0&t=696645

these two have been recently added (since my problems started)

welcome PM on first login
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 9&t=573016

evil quick reply
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 9&t=595969

as far as i can see the instant post redierect, anti bot question and quick reply are all working perfectly. the pm on first login has yet to be used (havent switched it on as the pms dont work)

the mod not working right, and to be honest never really has is the moderator user status. i had it on my v2 forum and requested it for v3 and someone on phpBB.com filled my request.. its just not done what i wanted.. but apart from the error messages its no big deal

When you upgraded, where there any files that it said it had a conflict with?

Since you have had added mods since the release and you are unsure which mod is causing the problem...You may want to see if those mods has had updates recently for those problems.
If not, try taking those files mentioned in that error and get a fresh copy of them and try to add those mods to those files(re-edit the files if they require edits to that file)

the mods ive had added since the upgrade shouldnt really have an effect, because i had my error propblems as soon as i upgraded, and the second lot of mods where applied a month later

as for your last reccomendation, id love to.. but i dont know what im doing.. you fancy the job? ill pay...
