The polls for our November 3-5 General Presidential election closed less than an hour ago, but we already have the results. There were twenty-seven (27) valid votes cast in this election, and here are the official results:
- Albertie Einstein (Intellectual Party): 10 votes / 37.04%
- Lyndon Bertie Johnson (BFA House Party): 9 votes / 33.33%
- Sir Bertie Jr. (Anti-Bush Party): 4 votes / 14.81%
- Barack O'Bertie (Communist Party): 4 votes / 14.81%
Because no single candidate received a majority of the votes, Albertie Einstein and Lyndon Bertie Johnson will continue into our runoff election, which will be another 36 hour election, starting tomorrow night, Thursday, at 9 PM EST and ending on Saturday at 9 AM EST. The results of the runoff election will be announced live on phpBB Weekly #084 this Saturday. More details on the runoff election can be found in the election rules post.
Congratulations to Sir Bertie Jr. and Barack O'Bertie for running very strong campaigns; their campaign topics will remain open for continued discussion but will be unstickied in this forum. Albertie Einstein and Lyndon Bertie Johnson are encouraged to continue campaigning through the end of the runoff election, and they will each be receiving a private message from me either this afternoon or tomorrow with information regarding the presidential inauguration that will take place on Saturday's episode of phpBB Weekly.
Thanks!
