Can I haz upload speed?

It's really poor on my ISP but they are trialling upgrades, but I highly doubt it will be as good as yours.

at the moment 20Mb down 0.75 up

After the upgrade i'd say a maximum of 2Mb up.

I don't think this is all that bad considering that I am on a wireless laptop on the second floor of my house and the cheap old G-Router is on the first floor. I know that if I do the test from my direct line on my desktop I squeeze around 23M. Not bad when my ISP advertises speeds up to 16M

23Mb may be just a gimmick on speedtest.net... if you have an antivirus installed like AVG or Avast they can make the results come back higher than they actually are for some reason.

That's pretty horrid upload speed.
Can you take one without all the extra downloading to get a more realistic speed?
Watch out! I might do a code wheelie!

Mines worse, but it will be upgraded within the next year to 2Mb upload. currently have 0.73Mb

The reason being the network here was originally built to take no more than cable TV... it can support 50Mb download as a top package... soon they will release 100Mb and 200Mb but the upload speeds will still be not that great. 50Mb may get either 5Mb or 10Mb upload speeds - probably 5Mb.

For those of who are using ADSL, you can hear with your ISP if they are capable of Annex-M. your modem must also deal with it, but you can get a better upload if you change it.
You can read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ITU_G.992.5_Annex_M

Traditional ADSL is now going to be slowly upgraded in certain areas of the UK to VDSL... 40Mb/s (10Mb/s upload top pckage) [1] packages. This is only select exchanges at the moment but will slowly expand. They then are going to look into other technologies to extend that to 60Mb/s.

Some lucky people may even get FTTP as they have worked out it will be cheaper than originally envisaged. this will be at 100Mb/s initially but no doubt could be upgraded later.

I'm on cable though, completely different, but Cable in the UK can already get 50Mb/s [2], as I've posted before they're trialling 200Mb/s and are planning to release 100Mb/s next year.

You can say that Virgin Media are ahead of the game with cable. BT have got to spend a lot of money to upgrade their network to VDSL. They have only just rolled out ADSL2+ at 20Mb/s.
