How do I install IE7?

Greetings!

I have a question for the Windoz people here that are using IE7...
How did you install IE7?

I have Windows XP Home, but I noticed that it requires XP Pro x64 or XP Service Pack 2.
First...
Does it really need those? Will IE7 work on a non-service pack 2 version of Windows.
If not, how does one aquire Service pack 2? <-- I'm sure I can figure this one out if I need to.

Where did you get your copy of XP? If it's recent at all, it's SP 2. I don't have IE7 installed, but I would think that you go to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/dow ... fault.mspx and select your windows version, then you download it and run the installer.

@Harmless, No, it's an older copy of XP
I know where to get IE7 from But it requires SP2, which I know for sure I don't have... yet.

@Aden, Well yes... you would think, but I'm new to the whole Windoz thing.
In this case, my Virtual PC may not boot, but no problem there, I just hit the 'delete' button and install a new one... no big deal, I installed three last night.

Yes, I was feeling SUPER BRAVE!! so I installed it on an expendable external firewire drive first.

Then installed two more after I saw it didn't take up too much space and it actually worked out okay (the install I mean), but jeez, it took FOREVER!
In the amount of time it took to install each Windows XP, I could have installed two and a half Mac OS Xes.
plus, they ask for setup information at odd times during the install... whereas OS X just asks when it's finished.
And with OS X, you only reboot once, not three times.
