Kjel, since you found the correct code already, I'll just post a quicky.
BTW, you were on the right track with substr.

change to

that should do it.

It's not possible right now? it will be in the next version

I have a small question my forum is french writer forum and we use specials chars like é,è,ê,ë,ô,î,ç and à a lot for exemple the sentence:"Premier Scénario, bientôt!" are displayed as "Premier Scénario, bientôt!" can i just add a part of code whit a loop and substrings for remplace 'é' for 'é' and 'ô' for ô ???

Found a bug, you should be using sql_query_limit() rather than putting the limit in $sql, as LIMIT doesn't exist in all dbs such as MSSQL which I was trying to use when I discovered this. Thanks for the useful addon!
