One of those problems wouldn't be the posts in the box not loading on the index page would it?

I've installed it fine and everything displays as it should on the chat.php page but the shouts that are made don't display at all on the index, the section for the chatbox does but users are unable to send and view shouts.

Any idea what could be causing it?

I've tried manually refreshing it like needs to be done here but with no luck.

Yep... that has all been reported and the fix will by in my next beta release, which will be probably Sunday.
All you will have to do to upgrade is replace the old files with the new ones provided in the download.

Ok guys, give the chatbox on the index page a try and let me know if there are any errors in it.
If you want to compare it to the old one, the old one is still located at the chat page.

Looks really good so far!!

No complaints as far as function,
Had a small hickup (lockup) when posting a link with BBCode, but then returned to normal after the BBCode post appeared.
Here are a few tweaks on this beta:

• Put a space on both sides of the delete button.
  
• Colour usernames should be really easy.
  
• Show last 25 posts on index (this is how it is) and last 50 posts on the chat page.
  
• At the bottom of the last 25, put a link to the chat page to "see the rest".
  
• For Guests: Put a message on the bar that (normally) has the post message box where it will tell the guest they need to be logged in to chat in the chatbox.
  
• small link in the header somewhere to go to the actual chat page.

It should work on phpBB3 Beta 5 since it's not Dependant on any core code to work.
