Okay, that looks good then, the only question might be line-endings.

Are you able to view line-endings on both files?
See if they are LF, CRLF or another kind.
They should both be LF.
See if you can now import your exported pack.
Also double check to make sure the STG pak uploaded.
Watch out! I might do a code wheelie!

No, it?s active if it?s in the pack.
It?s inactive if it?s uploaded to the server but not actually "active".
the "1" is for "display on posting"
For example... all the smileys you don?t see that are under "view more smilies" are set to "0"

Ok, I'm eather doing something wrong, or my version of phpBB3b5 is screwey.
I uploaded the smilie.pak that phpBB made for me into root/images/smilies, and tried to install it. I still show no smilie paks available.
I dont know how to see the line endings. (I'm using textedit)
If it exists in the real world, it can be created in 3D

NO! this is not recommended.

You can however, sign up on the board, and at MikeR?s discretion, give you the admin permission for managing smileys. (posting admin permission)?

MikeR, sounds like you have a Mac.
Download: SubEthaEdit (free 30 day trial) and open the pak documents in there.
At the bottom of the document, you can view line endings the current document is in... you can also convert to another line ending.
You can also go under menu > view > show invisible characters (shift + command + i)
To see the line ending choice.

I?m guessing it was a line ending issue since you were able to successfully upload/install the phpBB smiley pak you exported?
Also, see if you can verify that you?ve uploaded the pak file (unzipped).
Watch out! I might do a code wheelie!

MikeR, you need to have the smiley images that are listed in your smilie.pak in that directory also.
You can use wordpad to create your smilie.pak, it will save it in the correct format.
Or post what you have listed in your smilie.pak and I'll create you one.

NO! this is not recommended

I would never give out my information. Allowing someone to register to the test forum and give them admin access isn't a problem tho, becouse it's a beta board. If they screw it up, (worse than I do) I can just delete it and reinstall it.

MikeR, sounds like you have a Mac.

Yes, but I never use it for anything eccept making an exe for my games. (I just don't like it)
I use windows xp.

You can also go under menu > view > show invisible characters (shift + command + i)
To see the line ending choice.

I tried that in textEdit and notepad, but neither show the line endings.

I?m guessing it was a line ending issue since you were able to successfully upload/install the phpBB smiley pak you exported?

No, that's why I said I eather have a bad install, or I'm just doing things wrong. (most likely it's my doings)
Edit to add: The pak file I made would not install eather.

Also, see if you can verify that you?ve uploaded the pak file (unzipped).

Verified. It's up there zipped as it was saved. In acp/posting/smilies/import smilie pak --> no smilie paks to install.

Now, just to make sure..... I'm uploading to: root/images/smilies/smilie.pak
Go to acp/posting/smilies/import smilie pak.

Does the pak have to be chmodded to anything in particular? (I just thought about that.)
If it exists in the real world, it can be created in 3D
