I tried doing a version of this for my 2.0.22 board but I messed it up somewhere and couldn't see where. I could use a phpBB version of this as I'm being plagued by spambots at the moment and the mods section of phpbb.com's board still isn't back up yet (I guess it's a low priority compared to the rest of the site).

Do you know where I could download a working version of the mod for phpbb2?

As for doing a phpbb3 version of it, I'll try it out myself, as it does seem a good idea. I think the new visual CAPTCHA is too hard for some human users and will put them off signing up.
