Request help with tables in post

Postby Kathryn » 24 Aug 2012, 19:51

I am new to phpbb, and am hand copying my current mybb forum to phpbb3. I am using the skin, fisubice2 , but my issue is not with the style but bbcode. I have tried many a table in post bb code and yet to have found one that suits my needs. I do not know how to allow html and quite frankly do not think phpbb gives that option due to security. I really need a table that will allow configuration in with and placement on the post.

Mybb has a mod for that... but I cannot find one for phpbb. Any suggesstions?

Your fisubice2 style is a subsilver2 type style. You could easily create some bbcodes to work in that style.
But if you also have a prosilver type style as a choice for users, those bbcodes would not work in those styles.
The class="tablebg" will work in fisubice2 but prosilver does not have a .tablebg class or a .row1 class.

Do you want this for fisubice2 only, is that the only style you have available to your users?
You can have an option for the width="" in the <table> or in the <td>s.
You can have the option for colspan="" in the <td> or <th> bbcodes.
These bbcodes will put html codes in your post for the table, but to be able to insert html in the text would not be advised.

Why don't you show us an image of what you are wanting to do or explain exactly what you what to accomplish.

No is NEVER an Option and NEVER is the only Option when it comes to Giving Up!
