What username can be used to view this issue? No answer given What password can be used to view this issue? No answer given When did your problem begin? When we switched hosts. A lot of things went screwy, including a major screw up of the left and right IDs of the forums - something that took me deleting a whole set of forums that refused to fix after using the STK (and there's still a single forum that I can't get to to delete).
We started noticing the issue when we set up an alternate site for if our host went down. A friend took a backup of our database and created a new one on his own server, and then pointed both sites to the same database so that both domain names would pull from the same information and we wouldn't loose posts or users in the process. At first we thought it might be domain issues, then cookie issues. Neither seem to offer a solution.
Please describe your problem. 1) When a user gets a PM, "most" of the time they are notified, but sometimes they are not.
2) PMs don't tend to want to show. I've noticed recently that if I receive a batch, the first will show, but the rest won't. However, the PMs are ALWAYS viewable if you click "send reply" and then scroll down to the history. Some users are saying that after a long period of time (one thought it might be about 24 hours or so, but this hasn't worked for me yet) the PMs will start loading normally.
The problem isn't actually hard to replicate, but at the same time it seems to be random.
Generated by SRT Generator ($Rev$) Based on the above - yes, the PMs are making it into the database. It's just that for some reason, the board doesn't always call them up correctly - and I don't know if whatever caused it is the same thing that caused the forum IDs to screw up.
The issue seems to possibly be ProSilver style based - one PM that wouldn't load in Prosilver loaded in the other styles. However, that one PM was just one of a few that are not loading now within ProSilver (there where more, but now some are actually loading correctly).
