Thanks, will eagerly wait for it eviL3.

I think the problem may be with the Prosilver mcp.

@LEW21 , Your mod, including the installation, is too advanced, which I don't need and it has failed to work every time I tried to install it. I don't want the sql queries also. And my support question also was not replied to in your topic. I just don't need those kind of advanced features. Also it slows down the loading on my forum and topic pages a little. But thanks.

have you tried YAQRM?
it is fairly simple and just took me only about 5 minutes to install when I updated my CVS board yesterday :grin:

Yes, I did try YAQRM too. It seems I have messed up the database entries. The first time when I installed Quick Posting and it did not work, I tried to manually delete the sql queries and deleted some of them but now when I tried to add the YAQRM sql entries, it gave some error that it some sql query is duplicate and nothing shows up in my topic and forum pages even if I have done all the changes correctly.

Anyway, I like the expandable and collapsible nature of this eviL3's Simple Quick Reply mod as I can put a expandable Quick Reply button on the top of each topic also and it doe snot slow down the speed of my topic pages at all. Sometimes I need to reply in topics without reading the any posts so the top Quick Reply butoon comes in handly.

This means you haven't deleted all of the SQL entries from Quick Posting.
This is fine and all you have to do is remove the lines from the query of the rows and columns that already exist.
If you don't understand what I mean, post the exact error message and I'll explain ;)

Just to let you know eviL3 that I still need your 0.1.1 version with the Subject field addition. Thanks.

Sorry, eviL3 if I am little impatient here for the updated files, but unfortunately my mcp and topic is getting messed up if someone posts with the quick reply button with no subject as it is now. I understand that it may be a bug, but I guess that adding the Subject field will solve the problem. So your new version is required. Thanks.

if it's causing a problem, just remove it until the next version is out.

2007-04-25 - Version 0.1.1
  • Improved javascript (onload)
  • Added post subject option

To update, simply replace the old files with the new ones. To enable the subject field, open up includes/functions_quick_reply.php and find:
Code: Select all
$display_subject = false;

Replace that with:
Code: Select all
$display_subject = true;

Simple as that ;)

Thanks eviL3, it works nicely now. How do I keep the QuickReply box open by default when the topic page loads?
