MOD :Very simple mod to make the custom profile fields admin/moderator configurable only.
I needed a small medalling system, so i made 3 custom profile fields, gold medal, silver medal, bronze medal.
But i needed those to not be editted by the user himself, so i came up with this..

Go to your admin panel.
open: ucp_profile_profile_info.html
find:

if you want it to be Moderator configurable also, replace all new U_ACP by U_MCP

as simple as that!

Looks great, except if you run it this way, it doesn't look like you can have custom profile fields that are user editable alongside ones that aren't. I'm sure the edit is probably right in about the same place, but sadly, I don't know the workings of PHPBB well enough to monkey with it. Any ideas?

thats totaly correct, because i have no knowledge of php i couldnt make this.

I tried another mod that did that at phpbb but could'nt get it to work.

Another problem with your solution is when the field is obligatory at registration. Then when a user go to edit his porfile, it will keep looking for it !!!

I am still looking for a solution on how to

1) Have several obligatory and several non obligatory fields at registration
2) Choose which fields you want to display or not on a user profile

If someone has an idea on how to achieve this ?

I was thinking about this and say you have a group which you want to have extra fields.

Would you beable to set this so its just that group that has extra fields and that they can edit?
