No. It only requires get_remote_file.

Where, if I may ask, is the changelog for 1.0.3? Even the install.xml says it's v1.0.2.

I think just replace the old files with the new ones? there wasn't much changed.

what is the url and filename of the phpbb version file. I assume it should be similar to this

Code: Select all
         'author'   => 'The phpBB Group',
         'title'      => 'phpBB',
         'tag'      => 'phpBB',
         'version'   => '3.0.0',
         'file'      => array('phpbb.com', 'updatecheck', 'version.xml'),

how many mods would this work with?

most mod authors will not have incorporated their mod with something like this.

EDIT: Installed and its brilliant! Every mod author should add compatability with this, or at least all mods released in the phpBB.com mod db should have this linked to the phpBB.com server so it stays up to date with the version in the phpBB.com mod db.

No. It only requires get_remote_file.

get_remote_file is defined in includes/functions_admin.php and uses fsockopen, so yes, it's required. :)

Re: [MODDB]MOD Version Check 1.0.2

Postby Newbie » 09 Sep 2008, 04:48

ive try separate times to install the latest version of Mod Version Check 1.03 into my phpBB 3.02 forum. Without any succes :rolleyes: i did got each time Module not accessible error message.

i did copy all 3 main folders ( adm, includes, language ) into my instalation folder and allow to ovveride existing files.

What iam notice whilest the last step of the installation is, the "Check for MOD Updates" option is not in the dropdown list of Automation!? What i have there is (just above "word censoring) ACP_MOD_VERSION_CHECK option.

btw: what should i do with the contrib foulder ant the modx.prosilver.en.XML & MOD_Version_Check.XML files which came also in the zip file?

thx in advance...

PS: sorry for my bad english.
