Re: [BETA] Automatic Spammer Detection

I have installed this again on another forum however now after setting up the entire mod and getting no errors the user that has admin and bot permissions necessary to post and pm to the necessary sections of the board there are no posts generated in the board and no pm's sent out.

I have obtained the necessary API's for Stop Forum Spam and Bot Scout.

Please advise.

The only way to know is to make sure that the user you are trying to register is in the bot list that you have selected to use. If you are sure you have done all the edits successful, I will have to look at the MOD again and see what is happening which I wont have time to do for awhile.

As far as your PHP issure you will need to contact your host to find the best method to upgrade or use php 5

The user I am trying to register is definitely in the bot list and I have completed all edits successfully and can confirm that all files have been uploaded correctly as I have double checked all this.

Note: This board has been set up for admin activation. Not sure if this what is causing the problems. It won't pm or post in the appropriate sections even though the user specified in the mod settings has full access to the board.

I can receive emails from the system as I am getting emails when new users register on the forum.

UPDATE:

This forum was the one with the php issue but this has been resolved.

Try setting the activation to user and see if that works. I may have over looked that setting.

I will try setting the activation to user tomorrow.

Just to note:
I did try and register an account that is listed on stopforumspam and admin activate and even login and no pm. Before I try the activation setting change.

Will update you on how it goes tomorrow as it is late here.

I changed the user registration to user activation and still no luck.

This would presume that it is something that I have missed or not done correctly although I checked all the edits were done correctly as specified in the install.xml file.

Please advise me if I have missed something this time! I can't figure out what it is.

It seems to be fairly accurate. I would suggest directing this question to botscout and stopforumspam as this is the website's that this mod pulls the information from their databases to see whether they are a spammer or not.

It is possible that some users may get placed in the list and aren't spammers but if you have your support on your forum set up so that if a user has login/registration users there is still a point of call where they can contact you to get access, etc.

Even with changing this board to user activation I am having no success. :(

I have not been able to figure out what the issue is yet.

The only mods that are installed are Add User Mod, Automatic Spammer Detection and Prime Anti-Bot running 3myl_parchemin as the style.
