304 to 305 update using automatic update package

ok so i went through all the steps to update my board, my forum is located in public_html folder, and so in order to do the update i had to create a folder called phpBB3 , so i moved all the files to that folder "phpBB3" went through the whole update process , then it came to the area where you enter your ftp details for the update, i entered everything correctly and this is the error i get when pressing test connection..

Connection failed.
Unable to change directory.

the directory it showed in the ftp settings i had set like so.. /phpBB3/ , i also tried public_html/phpBB3/ and /public_html/phpBB3/

any ideas as to what could be happending ?

I have always had the same problem with that. Why not just choose to download the files and then upload them manually? Besides that is the recommended way to go.

i was getting some weird error when triying to download the update , lol so i guess im screwed lol

Okay....confused here. Why did you move your forum files into a phpbb3 file just for an update? You could update it without moving the files..

But now that you have, you must go into the ACP and update where the forum is. ACP->Server Configuration->Script Path

This is relative to the domain name

The path where phpBB is located relative to the domain name, e.g. /phpBB3.

So if your forum is in the public_html file the root would be

Now that it is the phpbb3 file folder it should be

Code: Select all

/phpBB3

Once you fix that, try the automatic update again.
