Ok I have a dumb Question I installed this with the automod but nothing seemed to happen it said it installed but no tabs showed up and i can't find it anywhere to set it any clues on why that my be ? I have have the same problem with Anti-Spam ACP so I am sure I am missing something in the auto mod install

I don't use Automod and somebody correct me if I am wrong but I believe you have to add the ACP modules manually yourself. I think the Automod only installs the code edits.

Yeah, it doesn't add ACP modules. That is dynamic SQL, which is either the job of UMIL, a handmade install script, or EAMI.

thanks guys I did get automatic spammer detection installed manually but never could get the Anti-Spam ACP will try that one again if this one does not stop them thanks

Basically, how do I know that it is working? Am I missing the idea completely? I've been know to do that from time to time.

Firstly have you followed the instructions frominstall.php which is included in the downloaded file??

Secondly once you have followed these instructions and if you have enabled both Stop Forums Spam and Bot Scout and entered in the API's you can go to http://www.stopforumspam.com/ and register as one of the users from the list on this page.

Depending on how you have set up your notifications once you register as this person you should receive an email or pm notifying you that this person has registered and they are a possible spammer.
