Jeez. It's a GUIDELINE, people! No one here ever claimed that it was an exact science.

I am not making a non existent point. And I am not the first one to make it, if I wasn't the first one to make it then this thread wouldn't exist...

I am not saying it's a bad system, just not perfect. I guess over time users could change their level if their original thought was too high or low.

I know lots about computers and using software, but little about coding. Because I know little about coding I put 3. Otherwise I'd put 10...

But your lack of acceptance of what it is instead of what it should be is growing to be a bit annoying. We all know that people have different skill levels. Just as we all know that this scale doesn't put an exact rating on your knowledge. What test can, other than a true IQ test?
The administrators of this site use the scale as a gauge. Want to be talked to like a newbie? Put your knowledge as 1. Want to learn the technicalities of everything? Put it at 8 or 9.

Want to be ignored when you ask for help? Keep following the path you're on.

The point you seem to be constantly missing is that it’s not designed to be “perfect”. And that’s perfect. Nobody hates you for posting your opinion, they just want you to raise your comprehension level.
Watch out! I might do a code wheelie!

Thank you, David. I was about to let him have some really non-politically correct opinions...

You thank him for taking your side?

"I was about to let him have some really non-politically correct opinions..." what is that supposed to mean...

My comprehension level is fine, I can understand what you are saying but no one understands what I am saying...

That he was about to post something that isn't acceptable on this site (for what he would have been slapped).

[STG MOD]
For now we're going in circles. I think that we (the STG team) have posted sufficient reasons why we use this system and why we think its a good system. Please accept this or describe a system that would be "perfect" so we can look into this. If we continue on this path (saying it isn't good without arguments and that we have to come in posting exactly the same), I'll close this topic as it will only lead in a flame war.
