Looks like the second part of the install was not done...
Did you point your browser to your_site/portal/index.php to add the stargate portal tables?

the only error I got via auto mod was for the style subsilver but it isn't installed,automod reported everything else was fine,after the install it lets me go to the portal/index to install and according to that installs fine.I cleared the cache manually and refreshed the styles

Just in case anyone is still following this thread, I want to take this opportunity to bring everyone up to date...

State of play:
Last year I decided to rebuild Stargate and remove all unnecessary code (mods and frill) to produce a fast, easy to use portal... This resulted code (Kiss Portal Engine) is considerably easy to install, use, administer and of course it's much easier to understand...

All of the removed code will be made available as individual mods for both phpBB3 and Kiss...
The follow mods are complete:

• Stargate Youtube Mod...

I will be providing an update from Stargate to Kiss Portal Engine once the validation process is complete...

The revamped version Stargate Portal know as The Kiss Portal Engine, has passed validation and is released at version 1.0.17...
