Okay guys... I think I'm ready for some help on this... at least it'll keep you busy until January where I can put some work into this thing.
Many of you will remember FM (FunkMaster) from EV-Nova.net, who was the original head developer of STN:TFF before his disappearance a year and a half ago. Nobody has seen or heard from him since, we've even attempted calling him, which proved to be a slight challenge for most of us, since he lives/lived in the UK, and we all live in a yello... ehm... the U.S.
Some of you may remember his website for STN:TFF (Archive:
http://badmonkeynobanana.com)
Which contains some of the pictures of ships he had rendered for STN:TFF.
Now let me pause here for a minute to say, that very recently, his website has suddenly changed:
http://badmonkeynobanana.comThis is a very recent development, so I did a little background checking, and it is still registered to FM, so I'm going to try emailing him again, and KA, if I could get you to try calling him as well. (keep in mind, London time)
Now moving on, our biggest hurdle right now is not having the right tools to render all of the ships that we would need for the TC
We already have all of the ships we need for the Teaser, so that's not going to be a problem.
So here is what I need...
Anyone with a little time on their hands, or who is willing to spend a few moments to see if it would be possible to render these ships.
Why
these ships, you ask?
Because, the match, nearly perfectly the exact Models that FM used on his screenshots, and well, I figure if he did it, maybe we can do it too.
Before I go into the links, I have Strata 3D CX, Bryce 5, and Blender 3D... most of the models I have (over 400) can be imported by Strata 3D, the only problem is, they are completely texture-less... and texturing takes time.
These Models can't be imported with any tools for Mac... for pre-Intel based Macs, I should say, so it's completely up to you Win people to see if you can do anything with these.
Here are the links:
These are all Starfleeet Command III ships.

http://armada2.filefront.com/files/Armada_2/Ships;764Same for the Bridge Commander Models:
http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/fi ... /Ships;639And finally, here are the Modding tools you will need to open those models:
http://sfc.strategyplanet.gamespy.com/modelling.shtmlIf you don't have Studio Max 3D, your best bet might be the Taldren Model Viewer.
But I'm not sure...
Also remember, even if things look a little poorly textured up close, when we render it true to scale, it might turn out fantastic.
So if you can open them up and take a look... post some screenshots of them so I can have a look and see if they will work out for us (depends on quality).
As I mentioned before, it appears that I found a fairly good sized archive of Blender 3D star trek ships fully textured... this will cover most of our basic ship needs that I don't already have done.
But I'm specifically looking for ships like the Reman, Gorn, Borg Queen ship, etc... unique ships that I don't have already... I don't even have models of, and the SFCIII models are the only ones I have found so far.
If you have, or know someone who has Max 3D, you would in a very short period of time be able to open all 400+ of my Max models and render them in a snap... (native Max formats) all in extremely high quality, but I have not found anyone with Max3D yet... so these models are still sitting here.
And finally... good luck!!
