That is what I thought also, but a fresh posting.php file does not solve the problem.

Did you dump the cache too?

Check through the functions files also for some damage, it seems it wants a function called generate_smilies, maybe that will clue you in to the damaged file...

I think the database is damaged not a file.
A database restore from last week will restore on my localhost. I am just trying to save my latests posts before before I backuped and disabled the board.

Yes I tried repairing the table but it didn't correct it. I finally dumped the database and started adding tables back one by one. I found the database problem. It was an unescaped quote in the database. After correcting that the database tables was fine, but I still was getting the posting error. After checking the posting.php and other files, I could not find the damaged file, so I got a fresh set of files and re edit them. Now the board is back up and running. All I can think of is during the backup, one of the files must have been damaged.

Yes, I gave in and used a fresh set of files
After moving 7 domains I was tired and it was the only one misbehaving. (everyone is saying that board is haunted because strange things happen on it and it's name is Spookieplace)

One thing I have noticed and want to know if anybody else has experienced this, is that the default on the UCP->Board Preferences->DST settings have defaulted to NO. All of my boards have experienced this during this move.

..::Frans::.. wrote:That will be a lot more difficult, how much more i can't say. THAT completely depends on all changes that were made during the mod-adding process. If you don't have deep-inside knowledge of databases, tables etc. than i suggest you don't even try...or at least find some help that can dive into your database...

Hi,

Still can't figure out what went wrong with my forum. Last thing i found was that it only happens with IE and not in firefox.

I m considering to just move the members (with custom profile fields).

Can you help me with the proper procedure.

Thanks

What you basically want to do is join 2 databases, and as said before in another thread, it can be done but it is a slow and painful prcess, even for people who have the knowlede....

So, i really do want to explain the procedure but that would take me a least 2 hours just to explain what you need to do...

BTW, even import the users sn't that easy as you would think.....
