'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine' Documentary Day

For one night only—TONIGHT—the long-awaited Star Trek: Deep Space Nine documentary What We Left Behind hits theaters. While I’m sure there’ll be streaming options thereafter, do you really want to miss a chance to see this with your fellow DS9 fans on the big screen?

If you’re just joining us, the crowd-funded and long-awaited What We Left Behind: Looking Back on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine is finally upon us. Directed by Ira Steven Behr (DS9 writer and later showrunner) and David Zappone, the doc features in-depth interviews with the cast and crew, as well as the writers imagining an 8th season premiere for our favorite space station denizens.

“The cast, crew and fans have a lot to say about Deep Space Nine. What We Left Behind is their story; it’s my story, too,” Behr told Fathom Events, which is releasing the one-night-only nationwide rollout. We’re also told:

I’ve had my tickets to this for a month, and I can’t wait. Not only am I firmly on the record as a huge DS9 fan and an espouser of the unshakeable opinion that it is the Best Star Trek, but this is the first—and perhaps the only—public theater experience I’ll have for a Star Trek TV show. I’m really excited to gather in a theater full of people who feel the same way that I do about Deep Space Nine.

If you’re reading this right now, there may still be time for you to grab a ticket to a screening near you and get there. It’s at 7pm Monday, May 13th everywhere tickets are being sold. Go go go! Warp speed!

Here’s what else we saw today when we weren’t dreaming about Deep Space Nine

What did you spy with your little eye?
