The Big Bang Theory’s Wil Wheaton reckons Star Trek character Wesley Crusher is probably ‘an international space hobo’ these days
Wesley Crusher last appeared on our screens way back in Star Trek film Nemesis back in 2002 and we’re all wondering what he’d be up to all these years later.
Luckily for us, The Big Bang Theory actor Wil Wheaton has some pretty good ideas about where the Starfleet Cadet might be if bosses decided to bring him back into our lives once more for a spin-off.
Talking about the potential for a return, Wil began to Metro.co.uk: ‘I would rather play a different character.
‘They’d have to make a decision on which version of Wesley Crusher they’d want to explore.
‘They have to decide: Is he actually this weird, supernatural time lord character that they made him or is he an international space hobo who isn’t in Star Fleet anymore? Who knows.’
We managed to catch up with Wil over the phone some weeks ago where he told us he’d love the opportunity to return to the Star Trek world.
‘It’s been over 30 years since we did Next Generation and in a way I feel like we had our time when we did our thing and it’s time to make room for new people, new characters and new stories,’ he said.
‘All of that being said, I would love the opportunity to work with them again. It would be like going home.
‘I think that it could be a lot of fun to revisit that character, but I just don’t see that happening.’
After joining the Star Trek clan in 1987, Wil was later cast in The Big Bang Theory and played an evil version of himself in numerous episodes.
He revealed to us that he believed the call to join Jim Parsons and the gang was a prank at first and took some time to decide whether or not to accept the offer.
