Alex Kurtzman reveals new details about Star Trek: Picard

In a new piece with Entertainment Weekly, producer Alex Kurtzman finally reveals a few details about what fans can expect from Star Trek: Picard.

This morning we reported on the new image from Entertainment Weekly that had been revealed from Star Trek: Picard ahead of the Star Trek Universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. However, other than the image there were few new details about the show itself other than the same things we’ve been hearing for months.

Well, now Entertainment Weekly has posted the full article online and while it doesn’t exactly say much, producer Alex Kurtzman does confirm a lot of the theories fans had about the show.

First, Kurtzman talks about how Picard no longer being a part of Starfleet has changed him and how it may affect what’s to come.

Kurtzman also confirms that while all of the imagery from the series has been in a vineyard, Picard will indeed be returning to space in Season 1.

In addition, Kurtzman expanded on the fact that while Picard has changed in many ways in the years since fans last saw him, this is still the same Jean-Luc Picard fans have come to love and admire.

Finally, Kurtzman talks about guest appearances by other cast member from Star Trek: The Next Generation. And while LeVar Burton may think they are inevitable, Kurtzman says that they will only happen if the story demands it.

EW also included a high-resolution version of the image we shared with you this morning of Picard and his four-legged friend in the Picard family vineyards.

Fans can expect a lot more information to drop during the Star Trek Universe panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 on Saturday. Keep it right here on Redshirts Always Die for all the coverage of the show as it happens.
