Star Trek: Tarantino May Be Involved in Film, But Probably Won't Direct

Since the ten Oscar nominations for Once Upon A Time in Hollywoodwere announced, Quentin Tarantino has been making the press rounds. Although he's happy to talk about the Oscar-nominated film, he's also dispelling rumors that he will direct a film in the Star Trek franchise.

Tarantino sat down with Deadline to talk about Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, but the interview eventually turned to the Star Trek movie. "I think they might make that movie, but I just don’t think I’m going to direct it. It’s a good idea. They should definitely do it and I’ll be happy to come in and give them some notes on the first rough cut," Tarantino told Deadline.

Tarantino's sentiment matches earlier comments he made back in December to Consequence of Sound. "I think I’m steering away from Star Trek, but I haven’t had an official conversation with those guys yet," he said.

Written, directed and produced by Quentin Tarantino, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood stars Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, Bruce Dern, Al Pacino, Tim Roth, Zoe Bell, Michael Madsen, Timothy Olyphant, Damian Lewis, Luke Perry, Emile Hirsch, and Dakota Fanning.
