Which Star Trek Discovery Character Are You Based On Your Zodiac?

With a storyline as unique as its titular ship's spore-drive, Star Trek: Discoveryhas been a boundary-pushing contribution to the Star Trek franchise that combines the best elements of all the series that came before it. Set ten years before the events of Star Trek: The Original Series, it introduced an entirely new cast of characters far removed from Captain Kirk and Co. aboard the Enterprise.

Longtime Star Trek fans soon began to identify with the brash Captain Lorca, the determined Michael Burnham, the cautious Commander Saru, and the energetic Cadet Tilly. Now you can find out which of these 10 characters from Star Trek: Discovery you are by matching with your corresponding zodiac sign.

12 ARIES - GABRIEL LORCA

The intrepid commanding officer of the USS Discovery, the most highly specialized ship in Starfleet, Captain Lorca was a straight-shooting leader who valued similar candor from his crew. A man of exacting standards, he required his crew to match his energy and enthusiasm, but only because there was nothing he wouldn't ask them to do that he wouldn't do himself.

Like any Aries, Lorca was the sort of dynamic captain who wasn't daunted by the Discovery - he reveled in pioneering its highly coveted spore-drive and utilized its resources at every opportunity. Prone to being impulsive, his impatience caused him to clash with Starfleet brass on many occasions, including Admiral Cornwell who thought of him as too reckless.

11 TAURUS - MICHAEL BURNHAM

Despite her reputation as being the "first mutineer in Starfleet," Michael Burnham was an exemplary officer. Known for being a reliable member of the USS Discovery, her logic and analytical skills often saved lives when she wasn't determined to save them herself with self-sacrifice.

Like many Tauruses, Burnham was known for having a public and private side, exacerbated by the fact that she was a human raised by Vulcans. Beneath her equipoise, there existed a warm heart, capable of great feats of generosity and love when revealed to the right person.

10  GEMINI - ASH TYLER

Encountered when Lorca was taken hostage aboard a Klingon ship, Ash Tyler was a young officer in Starfleet who had been tortured by his captors, though later revealed to be a Klingon operative in disguise. Highly intelligent and adaptive, he became a fundamental member of the USS Discovery crew after he defected.

Despite his tumultuous circumstances, like most Gemini Tyler remained positive and optimistic. Even when he doubted his ability to fit in with Starfleet again, he was highly communicative of what his needs were and was receptive to encouragement, especially from Michael Burnham.

9 CANCER - L'RELL

L'Rell might have been Voq's lover, but she was also a highly intelligent Klingon, who conceived of the surgical alterations necessary for him to become Ash Tyler and infiltrate Starfleet. Later, her tenacity would be rewarded with her becoming the Chancellor of the Klingon High Council and presiding over the Klingon Empire.

L'Rell loved Voq unconditionally, even in his human state, and was highly emotional when he pulled away from her advances. But like all Cancers she was discerning enough to know when his love had shifted to Michael Burnham.

8 LEO - PHILLIPA GEORGIOU

Phillipa Georgiou was one of the most highly decorated captains in Starfleet history, who tragically gave her life during the events that precipitated the Klingon War. Her first officer Michael Burnham blamed herself for her captain's loss, but she had the opportunity to make amends when she encountered Captain Georgiou's Mirror Universe doppleganger, Emperor Georgiou.

Both Captain Georgiou and her Mirror Universe counterpart represented both sides of a Leo. Where the former was congenial, warm-hearted, and open-minded, the latter was bossy, patronizing, and intolerant. By the end of Season 2, when Emperor Georgiou assumed the identity of her fallen former self, she couldn't help but acquire some of her positive traits.

7 VIRGO - PAUL STAMETS

Lieutenant Commander Paul Stamets was not only the USS Discovery's Chief Engineer, but he was also its resident astromycologist. He was greatly invested in mushrooms and their many emerging properties, from powering the ship's unique "spore drive" to advancements in medicinal fungi.

As a Virgo, Stamets was diligent in his work, and he had exacting standards for the Engineering department. Practical, highly intelligent, and a worrier, he had a bad habit of being critical to his fellow crew members and over-thinking situations - though this fussy attitude was only the result of his deep commitment.

6 LIBRA - HUGH CULBER

Hugh Culber held the rank of Lieutenant Commander, but also served as a physician aboard the USS Discovery. He was known for being a friendly doctor, with an easy-going bedside manner that put his patients at ease, but he wasn't above chastising them if they didn't follow his instructions.

Like all Libras, he had no problem making friends when off duty and was known for having a quick smile ready for everyone. A romantic at heart, he was the anchor for his relationship with Lt. Stamets, even when it became difficult.

5 SCORPIO - CHRISTOPHER PIKE

One of the most highly decorated fighting captains in Starfleet, Christopher Pike and the USS Enterprise sat out the Klingon War on a five-year mission, but the time away from the action didn't dampen Captain Pike's determination or passion. He assumed command of the USS Discovery after Captain Lorca's death while the Enterprise underwent some necessary repairs.

Like most Scorpios, Captain Pike was known for being friendly yet firm, possessed of an emotional intelligence he often used to better understand the decisions of his officers. Not even the withdrawn Michael Burnham could avoid his intuitive attention.

4 SAGITTARIUS - HARRY MUDD

Harcourt Fenton "Harry" Mudd was a con-artist, a swindler, and a notorious smuggler who first appeared in Star Trek: The Original Series. In Star Trek: Discovery, he was captured by Klingons and shared a cell with Captain Gabriel Lorca and Ash Tyler. He attempted to smooth-talk his way into their good graces but they saw past his facade.

Like many a Sagittarius, Mudd valued his independence and loved personal freedom, no matter the cost. Perpetually optimistic when it came to his own affairs, he believed that life was fundamentally unfair and it was his responsibility to get out of it what he could.

3 CAPRICORN - SARU

The only Kelpien to serve in Starfleet, Commander Saru was the first officer under Captain Gabriel Lorca as well as Captain Christopher Pike aboard the USS Discovery. His species had been raised to harbor a perpetual sense of fear, with a biological component that allowed him to discern nearby danger, especially his own impending death.

As a Capricorn, Saru was practical and careful, and as the only representative of his people in Starfleet, his ambitions knew no bounds at the Academy, where he became fluent in 94 different languages. After a poignant transformation in Season 2, he shed himself of his pessimism and fatalism and emerged as a disciplined Acting-Captain.

2 AQUARIUS - SPOCK

Like his father Ambassador Sarek, Spock served the Federation proudly as a half-human, half-Vulcan science officer aboard the USS Enterprise under Captain Christopher Pike. His highly intuitive and intellectual nature was juxtaposed with fierce creativity and imagination, and his emotional detachment masked an inward volatility.

As an Aquarian, Spock was inventive even in the confines of Vulcan logic, but he struggled to balance logic with the capricious nature of his human emotions. Though they didn't always have the best relationship with his sister Michael Burnham, she understood his struggle better than anyone, and he remained loyal to her always.

1 PISCES - TILLY

Though Sylvia Tilly began her career on the USS Discovery under Captain Gabriel Lorca as a cadet, she soon acquired the rank of ensign due to her diligence and hard work. Known for being highly intuitive and a quick-thinker, she helped in a variety of departments around the ship, specifically with Discovery's spore drive.

Like a true Pisces, Tilly was kind, compassionate, and sensitive to the moods of others. Though her roommate Michael Burnham pushed her away at first, she soon accepted Tilly's emotional support, and repaid the empathy by encouraging Tilly to focus on her strengths.
