“Shang-Chi” & “Jurassic” Filming Resumption Talk

Hard to believe but film production really is beginning again across the world. Today two of the biggest to get going again have provided brief updates.

First up, 7News Australia has shared some helicopter shots of the massive sets being built for Marvel Studios’ “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” in Sydney, Australia. In this case, a large Chinese temple and some surrounding village houses are being constructed.

The production was one of the first to shut down due the pandemic and is now one of the first to restart. Simu Liu, Awkwafina and Tony Leung are confirmed while Michelle Yeoh, Florian Munteanu, Rosalind Chao, Ronny Chieng and Fala Chen are also expected to star in the film which opens May next year.

Meanwhile “Jurassic World: Dominion” has already been filming again for a few weeks in the UK with many of the key cast returning to set. One such name is Sam Neill, the New Zealand acting legend posting on social media over the weekend to celebrate his return as Dr. Alan Grant.

Production on the film halted just a few weeks into a twenty week shoot, and just before Neill was supposed to begin filming his part. During his time in self-quarantine, he’s shared updates regarding the project’s restart and says he’s putting on his old Alan Grant hat and facing off dinosaurs once again this week.

Universal Pictures has taken massive precautions to ensure the health and safety of the cast and crew in the UK with actors like Bryce Dallas Howard and Jeff Goldblum praising what’s being done to keep the actors safe. “Jurassic World: Dominion” is currently slated for a June 2021 release.
