Star Trek: Discovery Introduces Its Newest Castmember - a Maine Coon Named Grudge

The newest member of the Star Trek: Discovery family is a giant, fluffy Maine Coon cat named Grudge.

Grudge, whose real name is Leeu, was announced via an introduction video by Star Trek: Discovery over Twitter. He will play best friend to the upcoming third season's new character, played by David Ajala.

According to the video, a casting call was put out for a large cat and Leeu fit the bill. "So far he's been a one-take wonder," says Star Trek: Discovery crew member Leslie Lorenz. "Everybody says that their cat can make a good set cat, but it does take a specific animal to be able to stay cool and calm and collected, 'cause when cats are done, they're done."
