Star Trek: Discovery unveils new first-look photos from season 3

Star Trek: Discovery has unveiled new photos from its forthcoming third season.

The Netflix series will return on Thursday (October 15), with a first-look trailer and photos of the USS Discovery crew's new look already released.

More photos from the forthcoming series have since been made available. They depict the likes of Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Cleveland Booker (David Ajala) 930 years into the future.

There, Burnham will discover the galaxy was hit by a cataclysmic event known as 'The Burn', with the Federation wiped out completely.

Season 3 will see the Discovery crew try to rebuild what remains of the galaxy, with the help of some new friends.

Joining the cast this season is Blu del Barrio, who will play Star Trek: Discovery's first non-binary character, Adira.

The OA star Ian Alexander will also join the cast as the show's first transgender character, Gray.

Michelle Yeoh, who plays Philippa Georgiou in the series, recently teased a showdown with Burnham in season 3.

It follows her character being kicked out of her Mirror Universe for a second time.
