Bryan Fuller To Boldly Lead Next Star Trek Series

Bryan Fuller is back to work on the series that started his career, and Trekkies everywhere are rejoicing. Fuller will be writing the new series alongside executive producer Alex Kurzman (the co-writer for J.J. Abram’s recent Star Trek films). Fuller also worked on both Voyager and Deep Space Nine, so he knows the series well.

“My very first experience of Star Trek is my oldest brother turning off all the lights in the house and flying his model of a D7 Klingon Class Battle Cruiser through the darkened halls. Before seeing a frame of the television series, the Star Trek universe lit my imagination on fire,” Fuller said. “It is without exaggeration a dream come true to be crafting a brand new iteration of Star Trek with fellow franchise alum Alex Kurzman and boldly going where no Star Trek series has gone before.”

You might better recognize Fuller from shows like Pushing Daisiesand Hannibal, two popular TV shows that he created. Fuller has a style all his own that is reflected in these series; he also has a knack for producing content with both character depth and enticing plot lines. Kurzman has said that they will be attempting to go back to the roots of the Trek television series, and with these two minds working together, the project is indeed looking promising.

The new Star Trek series will begin January 2017 and will premiere on CBS.
