Star Trek: Discovery Release Date Reveal?
CBS announced, previously, that a new Star Trek: Discovery would be making its debut in 2017. Fans have been chomping at the bit for an official release ever since. The series has seen quite a few setbacks, with CBS only stating the series would debut in Fall 2017. Outside of the announcement of a few cast members, including Jason Isaacs, and details about the show’s timeline, few details have been revealed. However, according to an article released by Variety on April 26th, it looks like we may see an official release date very soon.

According to the article, CBS will be presenting its “Fall Upfronts” for the coming year on May 17th. CBS previously said that Star Trek: Discovery will air Fall 2017. Putting the two together has led anxious fans to believe they will finally get a date on when the USS Discovery will set off on its voyage into the final frontier. Only time will tell if the rumors and speculation are true, but it’s very likely that we’ll finally get to start seeing the light at the end of the long tunnel that has been the development of this series.
It has been 12 years since the last Star Trek television series, Star Trek Enterprise, ended it’s run on May 13, 2005. While the series had a reboot taking place in the Kelvin Timeline with the reboot films starting in 2009 with no guarantee for a 4th film, this will be the first time the original Star Trek timeline has been used in film since Enterprise. Taking place 10 years before Star Trek: The Original Series, fans have been speculative about how the series will perform, but excited nonetheless. The creators of the show have been tight-lipped about further details of the storyline other than saying the series will explore a previously mentioned event in the Star Trek Universe.
