Star Trek Discovery Lists it’s Episodes and Roles
Internet. The final frontier. These are the voyages of The Nerd Stash. Its continuing mission to explore strange news stories. To seek out new info and new insights. To boldly review what no one has reviewed before. Star Trek Discovery is just visible on the event horizon, and the transmissions have been pouring in with everything from casting to episode titles to character roles to the overarching plot.
The show centers around two ships: the U.S.S. Discovery, captained by Lorca, and the U.S.S. Shenzhou under the command of Captain Georgiou. The lead protagonist, a human raised by Spock’s daddy named Michael Barnham, will presumably have the task of uniting the crews’ separate stories.
On the Discovery side of things, Captain Lorca, played by Jason Isaacs, a.k.a. Lucius Malfoy, is a hardened, tough-as-nails wartime authority figure. Who is the Federation at war with? Here’s a hint: Star Trek Discovery is a prequel show to the original Star Trek series. So, in other words, they’re fighting the Klingons.
Things won’t be quite so cut-and-dry this time, however. Star Trek Discovery will drill down into both sides of the conflict, exploring the inner workings and culture of the Klingons as well as the Federation. The names of the first four episodes have been announced via the show’s official Twitter.
In order, those episodes are “The Vulcan Hello,” “Battle at the Binary Stars,” “Context is for Kings,” and “The Butcher’s Knife Cares Not for the Lamb’s Cry.” How poetic.
Interestingly enough, critics are barred from watching the show before everyone else. No worries, though, fans can write their own reviews once Star Trek Discovery premiers on CBS September 24 this coming Sunday.
