‘Star Trek: Discovery’ to Beam Up Chapter 2 in January

Trekkies, rejoice! “Star Trek: Discovery” has a premiere date set for chapter two and you surely won’t have suffered Starfleet withdrawal by the time it comes back.

CBS All Access announced on Thursday that the second installment of season one will return on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018. The first episode of chapter two, “Despite Yourself,” will be available after 8:30 p.m. ET.

“While in unfamiliar territory, the U.S.S. Discovery crew is forced to get creative in their next efforts to survive opposing and unprecedented forces and return home,” a description of the episode, provided in a press release, reads.

Every subsequent episode of season one will be available on demand Sundays after 8:30 p.m. ET. Chapter 2 will include the six remaining episodes of season one. The season finale will be available on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018.

The first eight episodes of the show, which is broadcast via CBS Television Network’s digital subscription video on-demand and live streaming service, are currently available for streaming. The ninth episode, and finale to chapter one, will be available this Sunday, Nov. 12.

The series stars Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Jason Isaacs, Anthony Rapp, Michelle Yeoh, Shazad Latif, Mary Wiseman, Mary Chieffo, and James Frain.

“Star Trek” Discovery” has already been renewed for a second season.
