Star Trek: Discovery season 2: New episode 3 pictures bring back Klingons and Georgiou
A batch of new images have been released from the next episode of Star Trek: Discovery, showing the return of two major characters.
The second episode of the season saw Burnham, Pike and co. manage to divert an asteroid from destroying an entire planet, in what felt like a self-contained adventure of old.
The third episode, titled Point Of Light, looks set to adjust course to Discovery’s long-standing story threads, seeing the return of the Klingons in all their newly-hairy glory.
It will be the first time we’ve seen the Klingons in the second season, after the first season finale brought an end to the Klingon war in pretty abrupt fashion with L’Rell (Mary Chieffo).
The pictures also mark the return of Ash Tyler (Shazad Latif) who was revealed in the last season to be a Klingon who underwent agonising surgery to appear human.
Phillippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) will also be back in her new role as an operative of Section 31, alongside character Leland (Alan Van Sprang.
The official synopsis for the episode, reads: ‘A surprise visitor to the U.S.S. Discovery brings shocking news about Spock and dredges up past regrets for Burnham.
‘Following the asteroid incident, Tilly struggles to keep a grip on her reality. L’Rell’s authority on Qo’noS is threatened.’
