Star Trek Discovery teases ‘big ideas’ for season 3 – but they’re still waiting to get the go ahead
Plans are already underway for season three of Star Trek Discovery.
Showrunner Alex Kurtzman is just waiting to get the green light from The Powers That Be on a third season.
At the Television Critics Association Winter Event, TrekMovie.com reports him saying they are working on the season two finale at the moment and have ‘big ideas’ for future episodes.
‘Hopefully we’ll get the pickup’ he said, adding: ‘I cannot wait for you guys to see [the finale]. We’re really proud of it.’
The cast and crew on the Discovery panel kept schtum on which episode Spock would finally appear in, and executive producer Heather Kadin told fans to expect something new.
‘When you see him, it’s going to be so different from what you expected’ she is reported as saying.
Fans should expect a younger, scrappier Spock compared to the iconic character Trekkies know and love from the original series.
Recent pictures from episode three of season two teased the return of a familiar face.
The third episode, titled Point Of Light, looks set to adjust course to Discovery’s long-standing story threads, seeing the return of the Klingons in all their newly-hairy glory.
It comes after the first season finale brought an end to the Klingon war.
Michelle Yeoh’s Phillippa Georgiou will also be back in her new role as an operative of Section 31, alongside character Leland.
