Star Trek: Discovery is bringing in major character from Short Treks spin-off
Star Trek: Discovery is set to bring a major character from the Short Treks spin-off series on board.
The next episode of the CBS/Netflix show will include Po – aka Me Hani Ika Hali Po – who made her debut in the short 'Runaway'.
In the short, she escaped the rising tensions on her home planet of Xahea and befriended Ensign Sylvia Tilly.

She also demonstrated a gift for engineering, creating a dilithium incubator that Starfleet wanted, and was later revealed to be queen of her home planet.
This isn't the first time that Discovery and its spin-offs have collided either, with Saru's backstory in 'The Brightest Star' proving important to the main series storyline, while Harry Mudd also got his own spin-off in 'The Escape Artist'.
Earlier this year, Short Treks became available to watch in the UK, so British fans can delve into Po's story before the next episode.
Meanwhile, one of the stars of Discovery has hinted that Spock may be leaving the show after debuting in season 2.
"As we have to say goodbye to our siblings once we've been through those storylines, now Burnham and Saru are going to have each other... that hopefully will be played out more in season 3," Doug Jones told Digital Spy and other press.
Star Trek: Discovery is streaming on CBS All Access in the US, and Netflix in the UK.
