Star Trek confirm three stars have joined cast for Patrick Stewart’s Jean-Luc Picard series
CBS has confirmed three names who’ll be joining Patrick Stewart’s hotly-anticipated Star Trek spin-off series.
The Newsroom’s Alison Pill, Penny Dreadful’s Harry Treadaway and Lonely Boy’s Isa Briones will all be appearing in the upcoming show set to be centred around Jean-Luc Picard.
The trio, who’s roles are still being kept under wraps, will star alongside Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd and Evan Evagora.
Sharing the news with her 12,900 followers on Instagram, Isa wrote: ‘If you were wondering why did Isa suddenly move back to LA, dye her hair black and is all bruised up from fight training? All your questions have been answered.
‘So excited to finally announce this news that’s been giving me butterflies for weeks.’
The title for the upcoming series is yet to be confirmed, however last month it was revealed that Production Weekly has listed it as Star Trek: Destiny in its schedule much to the disappointment of fans.
Patrick confirmed that he’d be reprising his role as Picard for a new Star Trek series back in August, with showrunner Alex Kurzman saying: ‘With overwhelming joy, it’s a privilege to welcome Sir Patrick Stewart back to the Star Trek fold.
‘For over 20 years, fans have hoped for the return of Captain Jean-Luc Picard and that day is finally here.
‘We can’t wait to forge new ground, surprise people, and honor generations both new and old.’
Star Trek Discovery is available on Netflix in the UK from Friday 19 April.
