Archer Season 10 Trailer

In space no one can hear you scream... but this is Archer, so there's a fitting touch of madness to open the season 10 trailer.

Archer Season 10 Plot

Just in case Archer: Danger Island's ending wasn't clear enough, the show's creator has now made it explicit: Archer is going to space. In an interview with EW prior to Archer's 2018 SDCC panel, series creator Adam Reed let slip that Archer Season 10 will take place on a spaceship.

“Next season is similar in the fact that they are all kind of cloistered together, but they’re going to be cloistered together on a spaceship," he said.

Krieger actor Lucky Yates then revealed that the season will be subtitled Archer: 1999. Archer will be Space Captain Archer. And yes, there will be a space bounty hunter named Barry.

It’s almost hard to remember that Archer began as a simple spy show that was very funny, yet also familiar. Through the years, the series has mutated and challenged itself by indulging in many different genres, but the last few seasons have shown that the series is now anything but predictable. The show’s most recent season, Archer: Danger Island transported Archer and company to the 1930s on a remote island in the Pacific. This season tells a compelling enough story, but the real highlight of the finale is the very insane ending that it goes out on. Fortunately, we were able to talk to co-executive producer, Casey Willis, about Archer: Danger Island’sfinale and while he was still guarded about what’s to come, he did help clarify some details.

Many fans were disappointed when the finale for last season’s Archer: Dreamland didn’t touch at all on the coma that Archer was left in at the end of the previous season. People wanted closure to whether Archer was still alive or not, yet little did anyone realize that there was in fact closure. The end of Archer: Danger Island sees Archer fall into a volcano and meet a fiery, melt-y death. That is, until a computer system on a space station begins to boot up a program. The program carries through the spaceship and passes over a number of sleep chambers that are all labeled with the names of the characters. Finally the chamber that says “Archer” on it activates and a very familiar face begins to complain to his mother. Only, now Archer’s mother is some sort amorphous force of energy that fits with the space theme.

Willis made clear at the show's Comic-Con appearance that Reed has a definite plan in place to explain these recent overtly final season endings.
