Star Trek: Picard Movie & TV Collection arriving in October

In anticipation of the debut of Star Trek: Picard, CBS is releasing a new Blu-ray collection featuring the captain of the Enterprise in October.

Ever since the Star Trek: Picard trailer blew the minds of Trekkers everywhere at San Diego Comic-Con, fans have been planning just how to get ready for the return of the captain of the Enterprise. Old Blu-rays and DVDs have been dusted off and lists of key episodes have been made as a primer for the launch of the series in early 2020.

Well. CBS has heard you and has decided to give you a hand and help you get ready with a brand new Blu-ray collection.

Revealed Monday on Star Trek.com, the Star Trek: Picard Movie & TV Collection gathers some of the former captain’s most well known and popular adventures into a single collection. The six-disc set will include all four Next Generation movies as well as two feature-length television episodes.

The collection includes:

In addition, the set will include an exclusive 16-page Star Trek comic book from IDW and over 10 hours of previously released bonus features. They include commentaries, making of featurettes, deleted scenes, gag reels, promos and more.

This is a set that is obviously squarely aimed at the newer Star Trek fan, possibly ones who joined Trek fandom with Star Trek: Discovery. Most older fans will already own a copy (sometimes multiple copies) of the feature films, although having them collected with a pair of classic Next Generation episodes in a nice touch.

The Star Trek: Picard Movie & TV Collection is scheduled to arrive in stores on October 15 in the United States, October 21 in the UK, October 23 in Australia, and November 7 in Germany. Star Trek: Picard makes its debut on CBS All Access in early 2020.
