Television is a fundamental human right, up there with life, liberty, and all of that other stuff, and it’s a grave injustice when shows are blocked just because the viewer might not live in the right hemisphere or geolocation.

This is where the Virtual Private Network comes into play. VPNs are eminently useful if you are traveling out of the country and don’t want your travel schedule to interfere with your bingewatching habits. They’re also pretty handy if you just want some privacy while streaming, or don’t want sites to take your data and sell it to huge corporations.

We’re assuming you’re already a professional at all of the different VPNs available, so let’s dive in and embrace the best shows you can catch up on through VPNs. We absolutely love ibVPN – so much in fact that we’re offering you a month’s free trial to bingewatch with freedom. All you have to do is follow this link and get watching.

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia

In what seems impossibly unfair, UK residents are able to catch up on whether or not it is actually sunny in Philadelphia, well before Philadelphians or the rest of the world. UK Netflix is a playground for great television, and it is currently the only country to have It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia streaming. Season 13 arrived in January, which should have given you ample time to catch up before the Season 14 premiere.

Steven Universe

There are masters of the universe, and there are infinitely superior gems of the universe. Rebecca Sugar created a madcap mashup of humor and heart on Cartoon Network, and viewers can check it out on Netflix in France, Germany, and the UK.

The Good Place

Again, we’re trying not to be bitter, but UK residents really got lucky with their Netflix subscriptions. The fourth and final season of NBC’s The Good Place, consisting of 14 episodes, started airing on UK Netflix on September 27th, the day after the U.S. premiere.

That means everyone in the UK is able to find out the happenings of those living in Neighborhood 12358W well before the rest of the world. But again, we’re not bitter. Much.

Doctor Who

What the heck, UK.

Again, we’re totally, 100%, completely not bitter, but UK residents with access to BBC iPlayer and TVPlayer can stream every Doctor in every iteration of every season of Doctor Who on the BBC.

Honestly, we’re happy for them. Really.

Orphan Black

Orphan Black on BBC Americais similar to Doctor Who in that there are a lot of iterations of the same person running across the galaxy causing havoc. However, while the good Doctor always seems stuck in the UK, Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) started off in the UK before heading off on a global journey of adventure and chaos to find the truth about her family.

Anyone with access to Netflix Brasil can watch five seasons of mysteries, clones, mayhem, and Sarah relying on a combination of day-old eyeliner and badassery to take down her enemies.

Riverdale

The CW’s Riverdale is the rare show that requires the viewer’s dedicated attention each week, otherwise the plot twists get so convoluted and crazy that it’s impossible to tell what’s actually happening.

This is the rare show we don’t recommend binging. To watch 12 straight hours of Riverdale would be similar to watching a community theater version of William Blake’s prophetic works where the entire cast is on acid. It’s still entertaining, definitely, but it raises more questions than answers.

Luckily, The CW airs Riverdale on its website or smart TV app for free the day after airing.

Star Trek: Discovery

In a better mirror universe, CBS’s Star Trek: Discovery would be streamable on every platform on every site in every country. Unfortunately, while the cast of ST:D has mirror universes aplenty, they’re harder to find in this universe.

As it is, Discovery is available for streaming on Netflix UK and Netflix Japan.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine, once of Fox and currently of NBC, is available almost everywhere except U.S. Netflix.

Again, we’re totally not bitter. Even though it’s up on the site for Netflix in Australia, the UK (naturally), Canada, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, France, Brazil, Israel, Spain, and Poland. They all get new seasons of B-99, but whatever! It’s fine. It’s totally fine.

Hannibal

For the cannibal enthusiasts, NBC’s Hannibal is up on UK Netflix. Tuck in your neck napkin and tuck in!

Rick and Morty

For any sons (or daughters) looking to get riggity-riggity wrecked, Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty has all the interdimensional weirdness streaming on Hulu, Sling TV, as well as Netflix in India and the UK.

How I Met Your Mother

We’re assuming anyone choosing to watch How I Met Your Mother in this day and age has heard about how it ended and made his or her peace with it. For those really committed to watching earlier seasons (or suffering through the final episode), HIMYM can be found on Netflix in Canada, France, Germany, and the UK.

Luther

Luther really pushes television in a new direction. While previous television shows and movies have shown us Idris Elba brooding and handsome, Luther gives us Idris Elba brooding and handsome in a number of tailored coats

It’s groundbreaking television, and streamable on Netflix in France, Germany and the UK.

Atlanta

While we pine away the minutes waiting for season three of FX’s Atlanta, viewers in Brazil, Japan, and Mexico can catch up on the show on Netflix.

Legion

Legion was not created for the human brain, but was created for FX by Noah Hawley.

Based on Marvel characters, Legion has the distinction of being the first television series connected to the X-Men film series. It has time travel, a shadowy villain with a hidden past, dancing, convoluted plot lines, and lead male characters with terrible decision-making abilities.

As a viewer, you kind of have to pick a favorite character and hope they make it out alive. In that respect, it is a perfect continuation of the X-Men films! For anyone looking to enjoy a show that’s like if Willy Wonka had mutant abilities, Legion is streaming on Netflix in Brazil, Japan, and Mexico.
