Star Trek: The Next Generation cast reveal reunion photo for Christmas

Star Trek: The Next Generation's cast are celebrating Christmas in the best possible way – with a massive reunion.

Jonathan Frakes, who played Commander William T. Riker in the '90s sci-fi series, took to Twitter today (December 23) to share an image of himself with a host of original cast members.

"We are family," he wrote alongside the picture, finishing it with a Spock 'live long and prosper' emoji (even though that character's from a different generation, but we won't complain).

LeVar Burton, who of course played the dashingly-bespectacled Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge, shared the same photo on his own Twitter account, writing: "Happy holidays from our family to yours."

Also featuring in the image are Data actor Brent Spiner and Wesley Crusher star Wil Wheaton.

Tragically, Captain Jean Luc Picard himself Sir Patrick Stewart is a glaring omission from the cast reunion. However, we can expect to see at least some of them back together in the new Picardseries.

Earlier today, CBS All Access revealed a first look at returning Borg character Hugh, who is played by actor Jonathan Del Arco once again – although he looks considerably different this time around.

Where he was once a pasty-looking chap and covered in impractically heavy robotic headgear, Hugh the Borg now looks considerably more human.

Star Trek: Picard has a premiere date of January 23, 2020. It will air on CBS All Access in the US and Amazon Prime internationally, including the UK.
