Watchmen, Batwoman Earn GLAAD Award Nominations
The 31st annual GLAAD Media Awards nominations were announced, with Watchmen, Supergirl and Batwoman scoring nominations in the television categories.
In addition to the aforementioned Arrowverse series, CBS All Access's Star Trek: Discovery and Freeform's Shadowhunters received nominations for their second and final seasons, respectively. The Watchmen episode "This Extraordinary Being" score HBO a nomination for Outstanding Individual Episode (in a series without a regular LGBTQ character).
In the Oustanding Comic Book category, Marvel Comics and Image Comics scored double nominations. Marvel's Runaways (written by Rainbow Rowell) and Star Wars: Doctor Aphra (written by Simon Spurrier) are up against Image's Crowded (written by Christopher Sebela) and The Wicked + Divine (written by Kieron Gillen). BOOM! Studios was recognized with nominations for The Avant-Guards (written by Carly Usdin) and Lumberjanes (written by Shannon Watters and Kat Leyh). DC Comics got a nomination for Harley Quinn: Breaking Glass (written by Mariko Tamaki).

Both Supergirl and Batwoman were recently renewed for a sixth and second season, respectively, with much of The CW lineup. Watchmen's second season is still in limbo.
The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies will be held in New York at the Hilton Midtown on Thursday, March 19, 2020, and Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton on Thursday, April 16, 2020.
