The Silence of the Lambs Sequel Series Confirmed for CBS
At the Television Critics Association's winter press tour, CBS revealed that they are planning a Silence of the Lambs TV spinoff simply titled, Clarice.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show comes from Star Trek's Alex Kurtzman and his CBS TV Studios-based Secret Hideout banner. Kurtzman will reportedly write the script alongside Jenny Lumet, Star Trek: Discovery's co-showrunner.
The series takes place in 1993, exactly one year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs. The show will take a dive into Clarice Starling's life, chronicling her adventures in the field as she pursues serial murderers and sexual predators.Click the button below to start this article in quick view. “After more than 20 years of silence, we’re privileged to give voice to one of America’s most enduring heroes – Clarice Starling,” Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet said in a joint statement at the event. They added, “Clarice’s bravery and complexity have always lit the way, even as her personal story remained in the dark. But hers is the very story we need today: her struggle, her resilience, her victory. Her time is now, and always.”
The script is reportedly already completed, though no announcement on the lead actress has been made as of yet.
