Friday Night Fights: Star Trek: Enterprise vs. Star Trek: Voyager

Let’s talk about the underappreciated shows of Star Trek, as we pit Voyager vs. Enterprise in this week’s edition of Friday Night Fights.

Last week we pit the series two most iconic iterations against one another. This week we’re tackling two shows that fans often seem to ignore or don’t give enough credit to, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise. Both shows have so much to offer fans as they both traverse two portions of the Star Trek fandom that often got overlooked. For Voyager, it was the Delta Quadrant. For Enterprise, it was the beginnings of not just Star Fleet, but also Earth’s relationships with the Klingon Empire and the Vulcans.

For Voyager, the show centered around a personal favorite, Captain Katherine Janeway. The seven-season series saw her deal with the displaced citizens of Bajor in the terrorist group, the Maquis. Brought through the galaxy by a being of immense power, Captain Janeway had to blend her Star Fleet crew and the Maquis crew into one unit in an attempt to get through the unexplored Delta Quadrant in an attempt to get home. She made first contact and started fights with the likes of the Predator-like Hirogen, the aggressive Kazon, the Phage afflicted Vidiian and the ever terrifying Species 8472.

With Enterprise, the series followed Jonathan Archer, the first captain in Starfleet history of a warp five ship. The series explores the beginning relationships with the Vulcans, the Klingons, and other early Trek aliens. Not just that, but the series also explores some early appearances of The Borg and the Remans. The series does a great job of exploring issues among the Vulcans and early Starfleet while also showing the specific struggles that Captain Archer had to deal with in a time where help was far away and the work Starfleet would go on to do in the Alpha Quadrant was just an idea.

So which one is the better-underappreciated series, Voyager or Enterprise?
