Star Trek: Picard's Michelle Hurd Reveals What She Loves About Raffi
Star Trek: Picard's breakout star, Michelle Hurd, has revealed what makes Raffi so different from all her other roles.
As the breakout character from the CBS All Access series, Hurd expressed what she likes about playing such a complex character in the longstanding franchise.
"I really like this character because she's not perfect, even though she worked for an organization that, on the surface, appears to be," Hurd told The Hollywood Reporter. "She's struggling — she's haunted, she has vices. But I love that. She's really trying to do the right thing."

"But not only am I a woman of color," she continued. "But I can tell that story about all of us who have struggled similarly. Who have some demons. And, in doing so, show that — not all of us are bad people. We're all out here trying to do our best. We're all human beings, with stories worth telling."
Playing Raffi has given Hurd a chance to play a complex character, and is admittedly loving it.
Star Trek: Picard stars Patrick Stewart, Alison Pill, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera, and Harry Treadaway. New episodes of the series premiere every Thursday on CBS All Access.
