Star Trek: Picard's Showrunner Wants to Make an Adam Warlock MCU Film

Star Trek: Picard showrunner Michael Chabon wants to write a Marvel Cinematic Universe film based around Adam Warlock.

The acclaimed writer made the revelation during a Q&A session on Instagram. A fan asked Chabon, "Just read your draft for Spider-Man 2 which I loved. Any other superheroes you connect with?" Chabon responded, "So many! Still holding out for that Warlock call from #kevinfeige!"

This was not Chabon's first time expressing his admiration for Warlock. In a 2012 interview with The New York Times, he mentioned Warlock being a dream project for him to adapt. Even though he is known for being a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, Chabon has also had his hand in entertainment. Along with his role as showrunner on Picard, he worked on the script for Spider-Man 2  as well as collaborating on the screenplay for 2012's John Carter.

Marvel has been teasing Warlock's presence within the MCU for years. The character’s cocoon was seen briefly as part of an end-credits scene for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. That moment led many to believe that the iconic Marvel character would be jumping to the big screen with his own Hollywood blockbuster feature.

Star Trek: Picard stars Patrick Stewart, Alison Pill, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera and Harry Treadaway. A new episode premieres each Thursday on CBS All Access.
