Star Trek: Voyager Cast Members Are Starting Their Own Rewatch Podcast
With the show's 25th anniversary just around the corner, two Star Trek: Voyager cast members are celebrating by creating a podcast where they rewatch the whole series. The original Star Trek TV series came out in 1966 and spawned an extensive universe of characters and lore, with a considerable following to match. There have been many TV shows, books, comics, video games, and thirteen feature films.
As reported by ComicBook.com, two Star Trek: Voyager cast members, Robert Duncan McNeill, and Garrett Wang, who played Tom Paris and Harry Kim respectively, will host the new podcast. It's titled The Delta Flyers, named after a Starfleet shuttlecraft created by the crew of the USS Voyager, and will begin airing episodes in early May. Their series, Star Trek: Voyager, aired for seven seasons from 1995 to 2001.
While McNeill and Wang's podcast celebrates the extensive past Star Trek adventures, CBS is currently building it back up to prominence. CBS All Access recently created Star Trek: Discovery, a TV series starring Sonequa Martin-Green (The Walking Dead), which started in 2017. Soon after came Star Trek: Picard, featuring Patrick Stewart's return to his iconic character.
CBS and producer Alex Kurtzman, who's worked on many great projects from Xena: Warrior Princess to the modern Star Trek films, has plans for much more, including an animated series aimed towards a more adult audience, called Star Trek: Lower Decks. While there is also a Star Trek: Voyagerdocumentary in the works, if you love that series or Star Trek in general, be sure to check out McNeill and Wang's upcoming podcast, The Delta Flyers.
