Star Trek: Data & Borg Queen Definitely Did It

Though strongly implied, it has now been confirmed – Lt. Commander Data and The Borg Queen bumped sockets together during the Borg’s takeover of the U.S.S. Enterprise-E.

“Star Trek: First Contact” director Jonathan Frakes recently participated in a recent Watch From Home Theater screening of the 1996 film which is often labelled the best of the films featuring the “Star Trek: The Next Generation” cast, and directly inspired the creation of this very website you’re reading now.

During the watch he confirmed one long speculated plot point and yep, Data (Brent Spiner) and the Borg Queen (Alice Krige) definitely had sex. In the film she seduces Data in order to gain access to the Enterprise, the scene sees Data telling her he is “fully-functional” and discussing how long it had been since the last time he had sex before they kiss – and then it cuts away.

When asked if Frakes understood the scene as implying the pair had sex, he replied with a grin “I would.” Asked if this was ever discussed on set and Frakes replied “Yes” but wouldn’t elaborate.

Frakes also discussed a bunch of other things in his chat, including the famous ‘Riker maneuver’ which involves him sitting down on a chair by swinging one of his legs over the back. He says he does it in real life too:

Frakes and Spiner recently reprised their roles on CBS All Access’ “Star Trek: Picard” for its first season. Frakes is also confirmed he is returning to direct episodes of that show’s second season and recently helmed episodes of the upcoming third season of “Star Trek: Discovery”.
